Is this the right fit
Is Somatic Therapy the right fit for me?
Somatic therapy is especially helpful for long-standing patterns that keep repeating even after you understand them or have tried other supportive approaches.
Because this work engages the body and nervous system rather than insight alone, you start to meet your triggers from a different perspective, which frees up new ways of relating to yourself and your experiences. My clients appreciate the way it feels both pragmatic and compassionate toward their unique experience.
I’ve done therapy before and it didn’t stick. How would this be different?
Many people come to this work after years of therapy or coaching. They know their history, understand why they respond the way they do, and can articulate it clearly. The problem is that the response still happens.
This approach focuses on what you want to experience going forward. We work with what is happening in real time — including the nervous system responses, relational strategies, and protective habits that keep things in place. Rather than only processing or reflecting, we practice building a different response. That is where lasting change tends to actually happen.
How long does therapy usually take?
This depends on what you are working on, how long it has been in place, and the depth of change you are seeking. Many clients notice meaningful shifts within the first few months, especially in self-awareness and self-regulation. Deeper structural change usually takes more time.
This is not open-ended work. Progress depends on your goals, your willingness to engage, and the pace your nervous system can actually integrate. We assess that together as we go.

How it works
How is your approach different from traditional talk therapy?
My approach is more active and change-oriented than traditional talk therapy. Rather than focusing primarily on understanding where something came from, we work directly with what keeps it in place by integrating the emotional, mental, and biological levels of experience. We work with more than just the narratives and stories you carry, but with how those connect to and live in the body. The goal is not only deeper understanding. It is meaningful, lived change.
Why do I keep ending up in the same relationship dynamic?
Most recurring relationship dynamics are more than not being able to communicate. They are learned nervous system responses shaped by early attachment experiences, family dynamics, and the emotional environments you grew up in. Over time those responses become automatic, even when they no longer serve you.
In therapy we work to understand where those responses came from, notice how they show up in real time, and build new ways of actually responding in relationships, not just new ways of thinking about them.
Do you work with couples?
Yes. I offer couples therapy for partners caught in recurring conflict who want to understand the dynamic underneath it. A significant part of this work is each partner becoming accountable for what they bring into the relationship. You can read more about how I work with couples on the Work with Me page.
